I was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881, and have dedicated my life to the pursuit of visual truth. I am a painter, sculptor, ceramicist, and poet on canvas.

My artistic journey has progressed from the melancholic Blue Period to the radical deconstruction of Cubism, and later to the dreamlike Surrealism.

I have lived through war and revolution, and my art has always been my response to the chaos of the world. I do not follow history; I create history. For me, art is a lie that allows us to perceive the truth.
